Find customers more consistently

Choose the right channels and follow up with the people who respond.

Referrals are valuable, but they rarely arrive on a schedule. To find customers more consistently, choose a small number of ways to reach them, keep a record of the results, and make sure someone follows up.

01

Choose the customer first

Look at the customers you serve well today. What do they need, what can they spend, and what led them to your business?

Use those patterns to define who you want to reach. A local facilities manager and a national retail buyer may need the same service but look for it in different places.

02

Test a manageable number of channels

Choose one or two channels your team can run consistently. Depending on the customer, that might be search, referrals, events, direct outreach, or paid advertising.

Set a budget and a review date before starting. Track qualified inquiries and sales, not just clicks. Stop or adjust a channel when the economics do not work.

03

Make someone responsible for replies

Decide who responds to a new inquiry and how quickly they should act. Record the conversation and the next step so leads do not disappear into an inbox.

Ask new customers how they found you. Compare that answer with your tracking to get a more complete picture of which channels are working.
